<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">ya, they had a package special going on when i got my camera. the camera, bag, 3 lenses, and a 4 gig microdrive for a grand. seemed to good to pass up.Originally posted by -megalithanod:
The Olympus series cameras always seem to get a decent write up when I read their reviews. I'd love to be able to have more choice than a Nikon DSLR, but with the amount of money I have in lenses and accessories, I don't want to go starting over with another outfit.
And having a backup is never a bad thing!
hell - that is what I am looking to pay for the D70 from Nikon!
I might need to reconsider if they are offering packages like that!
If anyone is curious.... here is a pic from the D100.
I generally shoot Raw format for highest quality (9.6meg file).
This is a reduced image:
And here is the Full Size image saved to a jpeg... It's time to dust my shelves....

(This image actually has more noise in it than it should... I used a slower shutter speed and higher ISO because I couldn't be bothered to set up lights for a proper exposure... and I hate on-camera flash)

Thanks for sharing that, Spore!
WOW - I really want to make the jump over to DSLR now, but I know it is going to be a couple of more years at least.
Like I said earlier, I need to use the 35mm I picked up for a while, and thinking on updating the film scanner as my wife doesn't want to give you her Elan IIe anytime soon, so I'm going tobe scanning film for a while anyway, so putting the money into something for both of us
Photography purists have fought the digital era tooth and nail. Me, I've always looked at the camera (and computer) as a tool and if the tool makes things easier I'm all over it.
I never liked the darkroom (the novelty wore off in my first year of school) and the expense associated with shooting film was insane.
I'm as happy as a pig in shit now.
